Cookie Disclosures
Last updated: 8 July 2026
This page explains exactly how Verametric Research uses cookies and similar browser storage mechanisms. We are committed to full transparency about every piece of data placed on your device.
Do We Use a Consent Banner?
No. Under the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy Directive, a consent banner is only required for cookies that are not strictly necessary — for example, analytics, advertising, or social media tracking. Verametric Research uses only strictly necessary cookies. These are legally exempt from prior consent requirements but must be disclosed, which is the purpose of this page.
Cookies We Set
The table below lists every cookie or browser storage entry this platform sets. Stripe cookies are marked as future — they will only be active once payment pages are deployed.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
.AspNetCore.Identity.Application |
HTTP Cookie (Secure, HttpOnly) |
Maintains your authenticated session after login. Without this cookie, you would be signed out on every page navigation. | Session / persistent per login settings | Strictly Necessary |
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* |
HTTP Cookie (Secure, HttpOnly) |
Anti-Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) token. Validates that form submissions originate from legitimate pages on this site, preventing attackers from tricking your browser into making unauthorised requests. | Session | Strictly Necessary |
__stripe_mid |
HTTP Cookie | Set by Stripe on payment pages to identify a browser across sessions for fraud detection. Part of Stripe's mandatory payment security infrastructure; cannot be disabled on checkout pages. | 1 year | Strictly Necessary — Payment Pages Only (coming soon) |
__stripe_sid |
HTTP Cookie | Set by Stripe to identify a browser within a checkout session. Used to detect and prevent fraudulent payment attempts. | 30 minutes | Strictly Necessary — Payment Pages Only (coming soon) |
What We Explicitly Do Not Use
- Google Analytics or any other analytics platform
- Facebook Pixel or similar social media tracking scripts
- Advertising networks or retargeting pixels
- Heatmap or session-recording tools (e.g. Hotjar, FullStory, Clarity)
- Any third-party marketing or behavioural tracking scripts
Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent core functionality — in particular, you will not be able to log in or submit forms securely.
Browser-specific guidance:
Updates to This Disclosure
If we introduce any new cookies or storage mechanisms — for example, when enabling Stripe payments — this page will be updated before those changes go live, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly.
